How to Install Laminate Flooring Over Concrete Slab

Step 1: Prepare the Concrete Slab

Step 2: Install the Vapor Barrier

Once the concrete slab is clean and level, install a vapor barrier. This will help to prevent moisture from seeping up through the slab and damaging the laminate flooring. Overlap the vapor barrier by at least 6 inches at the seams and tape them together.

Step 3: Install the Underlayment

The next step is to install the underlayment. This will help to provide a cushion for the laminate flooring and reduce noise. Roll out the underlayment over the vapor barrier and overlap the seams by at least 2 inches. Tape the seams together.

Step 4: Install the First Row of Laminate Flooring

Start by placing a spacer along the wall. This will help to create an expansion gap between the wall and the laminate flooring. Step 6: Cut and Install the Last Row of Laminate Flooring

The last row of laminate flooring may need to be cut to fit. Measure the distance from the wall to the last plank of flooring and cut the plank to size. Insert the cut plank into place and tap it into place.

Step 7: Remove the Spacers and Install the Baseboards
