How to Masterfully Install Laminate Flooring Around a Toilet

Installing laminate flooring is a great way to improve the look of your bathroom, but it can be a bit tricky to do around the toilet. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to put laminate flooring around a toilet:

1. Remove the Toilet

Before you can install the flooring, you'll need to remove the toilet. Turn off the water supply and flush the toilet to empty the tank. Then, disconnect the water supply line and the bolts that hold the toilet to the floor. Carefully lift the toilet up and set it aside.

2. Cut the Flooring

Measure the area around the toilet where you'll be installing the flooring. Cut the flooring to size using a jigsaw or a circular saw. Be sure to leave a small gap around the toilet flange to allow for expansion.

3. Install the Flooring

Start installing the flooring from the wall opposite the toilet. Click the planks together and tap them into place using a tapping block. When you reach the area around the toilet flange, cut the flooring to fit and insert it around the flange.

4. Install the Toilet

Once the flooring is installed, you can reinstall the toilet. Place the toilet over the flange and secure it with the bolts. Connect the water supply line and turn on the water supply. Flush the toilet to make sure it's working properly.

5. Caulk the Gaps

Once the toilet is installed, caulk the gaps around the toilet flange and the base of the toilet to prevent water from leaking.

Additional Tips:

Use a toilet flange extension if the toilet flange is too low.
Install a wax ring around the toilet flange to create a watertight seal.
