1. Gather Materials:

You'll need several pallets, preferably hardwood species like oak or maple. Other essential materials include a pry bar, hammer, nails or screws, sandpaper or a sander, polyurethane or sealant, a measuring tape, and a circular saw or reciprocating saw.

2. Disassemble Pallets:

Carefully dismantle the pallets using the pry bar and hammer. Remove all nails and separate the planks. Discard any damaged or broken pieces.

3. Clean and Sand:

Clean the salvaged planks thoroughly to remove dirt and grime. Use sandpaper or a sander to smooth out any rough edges or splinters. For a more polished look, consider using an orbital sander with fine-grit sandpaper.

4. Cut Planks:

Measure and cut the planks to the desired length for your flooring. Ensure they are all approximately the same width. If necessary, use a circular saw or reciprocating saw for precise cuts.
